|Engine Puller Fans_______________________|
I wanted to replace the engine fan and fan clutch with an electric puller fan. The challenge is finding one short enough as well as big enough (diameter). I settled on an early 90s Cadillac fan (the larger of two on the car).
I couldn't use the stock bracket, so I built one from aluminum bar stock. I also like the Caddie fan because it can be used shroudless.
Installed, showing the ghetto wiring. I initially just hooked the power to the condenser fan, but that seemed too risky. I wired in a relay and 20 amp breaker straight to the battery (spares from the Scorpio fuse box), triggered by the condenser fan.
As shallow as the fan motor is, it still needs to be offset from the water pump.
